The decorative tiles finally came in, and I got some pix. The colors here are pretty true. The plan is to put a decorative one about every 4th tile. There will be a narrow black border at top and bottom of the row. Now that I see them again, they look kind of Mediterranean, don't they? The first one is a quick shot of all of them, then some detail photos.
I've been at a loss to pick a wall color for the bathroom - the subway tiles are white white to match the tub. But I'm wondering if we should pick up the gold/tan in these tiles in the wall color. The general warm color would blend well with the Baltic brown vanity countertop and there are red overtones in the wood in the vanity.
We moved the washer and dryer yesterday, up a flight of stairs, then navigating the undulating terrain of the back yard to put them into the new Garage. They will reside here for several months until the new stairway is complete. They were sitting right where the new staircase is gonna go, and we had to move them right away due to their size. Exciting, huh? L only painted round the utility sink, because it is staying permanently.
Here is my new office "desk". We had to move the real one, because it was too big to navigate around the existing stairs.
The reason we have to do this?
Tomorrow, the back door goes away. The framer will take that out and frame it so the siding guys can side the west side of the house and it will look like there never was a door there. We can still use those stairs for several months, but the door will be gone. It's funny because for the nearly 19 years we've been in this house, THIS was the primary entrance. We pulled up in the driveway, and came in the back way. Now, it just ..... fades away.
