First Siding Session Done

The addition siding is completed. They can't do anything on the existing house until the door and window changes are completed. In the meantime, it's starting to look more like a house and even less like an ark. Notice the lovely half-round shingles at the top of gable.

The sheetrock guys are done with taping and mudding. The texture guys will be here next week. Monday, we order the hardwood flooring.

Tuesday, we ordered the decorative tiles for bathroom. Comparing simply on price per foot, the 4x4-inch decorative tiles, plus the plain 4x4 that go between them, plus a little bit of border, average out to 15.5 TIMES the square footage cost of the basic floor tile and the subway tile for around the tub. I cannot believe we were in there looking at them on two different days and I did not take ANY pix. They should be here the end of next week.

We need to start thinking about moving furniture (desks and computer stuff) from the basement into a temporary location (new Garage, or "study"). The current stairway out of basement is old but straight. That stairway and the back door will be removed and replaced with solid wall and it will be easier to get this stuff out now rather than the new "switchback stairs" we will be building later.

Which is a nice segue' into, wait til you see tomorrow's pix. OMG!
