Getting Colors Done vs. "Done with Colors"

I went up after work to look at it again. Damn, it's still yellow. However, we did the first coat on Sunday afternoon, so I really have not seen it dry in natural light. That might help a little. Maybe. We are going to take a good look at it in the morning. In the meantime, we tested it against one of the items that might end up in there.

However, even the light is yellow, so it's hard to tell. We are back to this:

I think we might be going with something like this: (the left is eyeballing the color we have; I'm too tired to climb up that d**n ladder again. The right is maybe the new color.) Again, we should do these all again in the morning.

Everyone talks about "natural light" and I agree it is the TRUEST representation of the color. However, honestly, this is a BEDROOM. We won't be spending much time in here during the day. So, I think that the incandescent lighting effect in the room should not be totally dismissed.

Let's talk about something non-paint related. L is using the following detail for the baseboard corners in the closet. If it "works", and I think it does, then it may be extended to the bedrooms.

In other news, I will be out of town from Wed, the 11th thru Monday the 16th. So, I won't be updating the blog, unless L emails me photos (I am taking the laptop with me); I'm not holding my breath on that. I expect that while I am gone, he will install the closet organizers we are buying tomorrow, possibly throttle the plumber and finish the wainscoting in the bathroom. The next BIG thing is cutting the foundation for the stairs. That's when it will begin to feel more like a house and less like an obstacle course. He tells me that could be a done deal by the time I get back.

I'm pretty sure I will be posting new paint pix sometime this weekend. Ooh goodie!
