Do you want Door #1? Door #2? or Door #3?
These are some of the choices we are looking at for the main entry door. These are to represent the light panel, not the actual door. The glass panel will be at least 1/2 the door up to 3/4 which is what these doors are. We lost a big window in the Living Room. This glass panel door, plus a planned solatube, should recover some of that natural light.
The house is 85 years old. We want to keep some of the Craftsman/Mission influence. While we are not being absolutely true to history, we don't want to lose the character of the house and still want it to mix with the neighborhood.
I am beginning to wonder if the half-rounds in gable make the house look more Victorian and if the glass panel should reflect some curves, etc. instead of being so angular.
And, now that we have some daylight, let's take another look at the new French door in the Kitchen. The nook (still might not be big enough to be a true Dining Room) is bathed in light - it's wonderful.

My vote is for the 3rd option. I just love that glass and I think it would look great with the exterior light fixtures you showed us earlier! (Hi from Payroll SHE's)
