This has always just bugged the hell out of me....

Oregon is one of the largest producers of Christmas trees. So, for the "official" Christmas tree in Pioneer Courthouse Square, they go up in the woods, pick a huge beautiful tree, cut most of the branches off then transport it into the middle of the city, and hammer and nail the poor thing
back together. And, this year, they've started earlier than usual, I think.

Now, when this is lit, it will be truly gorgeous. But it still bugs me.

Leave the poor damn tree alone. Trees that size are the closest thing we have to 'old growth" any more.

Have you seen the frankenstree in front of the ODS tower. Its another old tree that looks like its in crutches.
