There was also some sort of problem about the forms not being set up for a below-grade floor; I don't remember the details.
Anyway, the city inspector was out this morning, and approved for pour with one correction. Not sure when that is going to happen, I kind of hope it doesn't happen tomorrow because L will be gone on jury duty. Ironically, I used to test concrete for a living, do on-site testing, checking for slump and popping cylinders to check compressive strength. But, I've never been in charge on a project and I don't want to be now. Plus, I haven't done that work for 20 years.
We've been finding a lot of this stuff.
And speaking of forever, hope springs eternal. We had a lovely jasmine bush/tree crawling up the deck wall.
We trimmed it back, hoping it wouldn't need to be removed or relocated, but they needed to pull the whole thing. L put it in a bucket for a couple of days, and replanted it but the leaves and blossoms immediately dried up. We figured it was a total loss.On the slight chance it would come back, L trimmed it back to two or three primary stems and kept it watered during the heat wave. Now, we have this:
A few shoots made it through. Now that it doesn't have the whole plant to worry about, the energy can be concentrated on the new shoots, and in a couple years, it could be back to where it was!
